Yusaku Urakubo is a former student at Hiroshima Kureminami Tech High School and was a member of the Kureminami Tech Bicycle Racing Club, serving as its captain and ace during the main storyline's second year.
Appearance[]
He has especially thin eyes and dreadlock-like hair with red tips. When using his bicycle helmet, one of his dread sticks out the top of his helmet and it becomes similar to a shark fin.
Personality[]
Yusaku ininitally demonstrates being very provocative towards his opponents by mocking them physically and mentally with his actions. He is also someone who usually reads the atmosphere and the whole scenario he finds himself in and try to use it to his advantage such as becoming persuasive and exploring other people's anxiety through the hard circumstances.
It is eventually revealed that Yusaku is someone with little self-awareness who usually acts in order to reach his goals and impress the people he likes. By doing this Yusaku may become somewhat aggressive and act by impulse, without thinking sometimes about its consequences towards the others. When he fails to accomplish them or lose something he appreciates he can become extremely sad, specially if he disappoints the people he likes the most.
Skills and Techniques[]
Yusaku is a skilled manipulator who reads the air of the race and uses the other cyclists to his advantage, showing friendliness and using their worries to twist them to his whim. He also destabilize his opponents physically and mentally by provoking them, leading them to traps and even bumping into them in order to affect their conditions in the race.
As a cyclist, Yusaku uses the knowledge he obtained from the fishing at his parents work and reads the air currents from the atmosphere, passing through the small gaps that have less air resistance and increasing his speed without tiring himself. Also, thanks for his time at his parents fishing boat, he manages to get a good balance and control on his bike and even manage to turn the corners at the last and best moment.
