As a third-year on Sohoku High School and a member from the Sohoku High Bicycle Racing Club, Kawabata found behind a poster the writing done by the first-year Yusuke Makishima on the club room's wall and said he would kill whoever done it when he finds the culprit. After hearing the rumors about it, Yusuke cut the wall from the clubs room and done a hole on it.
